HMS Industrial Networks in co-operation with Siemens AG, introduces the new plug-in 1SI CANopen extension module for the Siemens SIMATIC ET200S I/O system. This new module brings CANopen connectivity to the SIMATIC ET200S distributed I/O system, allowing seamless integration of CANopen devices into the Siemens automation architecture.
CANopen module fits mechanically into the standard ET200 system rack and can be used in combination with all other Siemens modules of the ET200S family. Via the standard Siemens Profibus or Profinet bus coupler of the ET200S, the 1SI CANopen module can be used along with the large range of Siemens automation and control systems including SIMATIC, SIMOTION and SINUMERIC systems.

Intelligent Cellular Gateways utilize the existing cellular infrastructure to connect devices across geographically diverse locations. The RadioLinx Intelligent Cellular Gateways can also be used to connect devices through the Internet to one or more locations. Intelligent Cellular solutions combine robust industrial cellular technology, industrial protocol templates, and ALEOSTM software for persistent connection management. This software enables real-time device status and health information including network connectivity, throughput and signal strength. Another one, the ACEmanagerTM utility enables local or over-the-air device configuration and diagnostics. Integration is made easy with downloadable configuration templates that support various industrial protocols like DF1 and Modbus, and can be customized to support others.
The Intelligent Cellular solutions offer a compact form factor, low power consumption, DIN-rail mount and a rugged design which supports industrial operating temperatures and Class I Div 2 hazardous location certification.
Intelligent Cellular solutions are suited for industrial automation applications such as remote equipment monitoring, management and control, OEM equipment monitoring, M2M applications, and non-time-critical control for municipal water/wastewater, power, and oil/gas SCADA.
Versions are available for the following cellular networks:
Serial Modem for Global GPRS/GSM (RLXIC-SG) The RLXIC-SG Serial Modem is dedicated to applications requiring serial connectivity on cellular carriers that use GSM (Global ystem for Mobile Communications) to provide service. GSM is also the predominant cellular technology in most parts of the world.
Ethernet Gateway for HSUPA (3G GSM) Networks (RLXIC-EH) The RLXIC-EH Ethernet Gateway is dedicated to applications requiring Ethernet connectivity on cellular carriers that use GSM to provide service.

PDP: a new concept in Drive Engineering

PDP is a competitive alternative to ball screws with superior performances.
PDP is the first range of 'Preloaded Double Pinion' for high-precision rack and pinions applications. It means that PDP is made of 2 ground WMH pinions connected through a patented preload system to reduce dramatically rack and pinion mesh backlash. It includes gear teeth that precisely mesh with one another when the coupling is engaged.
PDP innovative concept allows high positioning accuracy and repeatability with a very competitive budget. For many applications, it eliminates the need of two coupled planetary reducers.
Mounted at the output flange of SRP, REDEX ANDANTEX´ high-tech planetary gearhead, the PDP is set apart by its performance level: 1) Superior precision and repeatability of less than 0,1 mm. 2) Superior torsional rigidity, and extremely high radial rigidity and tilting moment levels. The real difference is to be found in what is in fact much more important for the user, i.e. the combined rigidity. On the basis of this criterion, the sub-assembly SRP + PDP is between 10 and 20% superior to the equivalent units available on the market. 3) A high input speed (up to 1,200 rpm). 4) Maximum acceleration torque and nominal torque (from 1,000 to 2,840 Nm).

Through its universal design, the PDP enables design engineering departments to always find exactly the right solution to their high-technology requirements, thanks to the very wide range and the numerous options available when mounted on SRP: 1) 4 different modules with straight or helical teeth. 2) 8 reduction ratios. 3) Angle drive versions available in all the sizes. 4) Full solutions with reducer + pinion + rack available in all the sizes (2 output pinion diameters available for each size).
The input interface is available throughout the range in an in-line flange version or with a 90° angle (associated with a high-quality angle drive).
PDP is the ideal solution for demanding applications: woodworking machines, CNC routers, high-precision assembly machines and machine-tools…

Flex-CheckTM diaphragm pumps
The ARO Fluid Technologies business of Ingersoll Rand announces the release of its new Flex Check air-operated double-diaphragm pump line. Featuring a flexible internal check design that permits the passage of fluids with stringy, fibrous semi-solids, the new Flex-CheckTM pump offering is perfectly suited to applications in OEM and Process Industries where handling fiber-filled materials can typically clog and stall pumps with standard check arrangements: car wash, printing, laundry…
Thanks to its check arrangement that permits a continuous positive seal, the Flex- CheckTM pump can be mounted and operated in any of 360 degrees. (Refer to picture on the left).
Because the Flex-CheckTM pump creates a positive seal across the check, it in turn creates suction lift that is 30% higher than pumps outfitted with standard ball-type checks. This is a key feature in operations where the point of fluid dispersal is remote from the fluid source.
Once the pump is shut off, the fluid flow stops. This is an especially critical feature in fluid supply operations, such as OEM, where unwanted excess fluid can create reliable fluid measurement and delivery issues. Positive seal is also more environmentally sound and a money saver where excess fluid may be creating unnecessary waste.
Flex-CheckTM are available in nitrile or neoprene for broad choice of fluid compatibility. They can deliver up to 8.7 gallons per minute, enough flow for a wide range of low-to-medium demand applications. In addition to their unique handling and mounting capabilities, the Flex-CheckTM pump contains those patented features that have made ARO diaphragm pumps famous throughout industry. These include the SimulShiftTM valve arrangement that avoids pump stall-out, even under low air inlet pressures.
