With exceptionally high throughput and immense flexibility, Icon i8 has been specifically developed to meet the precise demands of the fast-paced Asian electronics market. Featuring a high degree of automation to maximize throughput and minimize operator intervention, the Icon i8 reduces product changeover time to a minimal two minutes. Additionally, the introduction of new boards to the production line is easy, facilitated by a fast new product set-up time of less than 10 minutes. With print speeds from 2 mm to 150 mm/sec, the Icon i8 can handle boards from 40 x 50 mm up to 508 X 508 mm, and a thickness of 0.2 to 6.0 mm. Maximum board weight is 1 kg. Instinctiv™ V9 user interface
Instinctiv™ V9 is a next-generation advanced machine user interface that enables you to use more of the power of your printer. Instinctiv™ V9 is designed to maximize machine usage, process control, and operator efficiency. The software expands the recognized advantages of the system by allowing faster setup with more reliable first-time print, lower operator training time, and easier error avoidance and recovery. These functions improve the efficiency and productivity, consequently reduce manufacturing costs.

Improved Under Stencil Cleaner
The Icon i8 now offers a improved under stencil cleaner featuring dual vacuum cleaning changers, as opposed to its original single option, which has created an even more superior clean.  Additionally, the solvent holes tube is now even easier to remove from the main under stencil cleaner body, resulting in ease of maintenance.

Compact Auto Tooling System
ICON customers can now experience a faster, more flexible alternative to existing tooling systems. When used in conjunction with the Icon i8, the system automatically configures in just a few seconds, eliminating the need for manual intervention and offering effortless integration at product changeover.

Advanced Statistical Process Control Software
To ensure that every Icon i8 machine reaches an optimal performance level, ICON uses SPC techniques to verify machine quality at build. After this point, the innovative software enables continuous process monitoring to reject defects infiltrating the rest of the line.

Pad on Pad Verification (PPV)
Pad on Pad Verification (PPV) is a quick and highly reliable post-print inspection system which utilizes the Hawkeye camera and inspection software.  Hawkeye is an automatic print verification technology, which provides a rapid go/no-go indication so that faulty boards can be automatically isolated in real-time.

Stinger dispensing system
With the Stinger dispensing system, the end user effectively will have printing and dispensing capability on a single platform without increasing equipment footprint. The Stinger system is designed as a direct bolt-on on the Icon platform and utilizes Instinctiv™ V9 software system for positioning and dispensing.

JUKI's Russian distributor Sovtest ATE participated and exhibited at ElectronTechExpo, International Specialized Exhibition for the Technology Equipment and Materials for the Electronic and Electrical Industry held alongside the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe exhibition for electronic components and technological equipment - ExpoElectronica 2010.

Europlacer's new XPii  SMT modular pick and place system and iineo SMT platform have been designed for the global electronics industry

Europlacer, a designer and manufacturer of comprehensive SMT placement systems for the global electronics industry, displayed its new XPii SMT modular pick-and-place system, along with its award-winning iineo SMT platform at NEPCON China/EMT China 2010 exhibition and conference.

XPii is a refreshing new approach to modular pick and place. Incorporating technology from Europlacer's innovative award winning iineo platform, XPii benefits from low maintenance linear motors, high resolution digital cameras and advanced on-head optical component sensing. With these advanced features you can benefit from all the capability of iineo in a compact space and the modularity enables you to build your line to meet growing demands.

XPii uses Europlacer proven core features, such as turret head, intelligent feeders and powerful software without compromise. It is equipped with a choice of turret heads and incorporates optical sensors that can detect, on the fly, the presence of components as small as 01005 and as large as 50 x 50 mm from picking to placement. XPii will accommodate components supplied on tape, strip tape, stick and matrix tray.

The system uses Europlacer's unique Integrated Intelligence™ and fulfils all possible placement needs in one compact system. It is widely configurable, allowing two versions:
XPii-I and XPii-II (one or two placement heads), 8 or 12 nozzles, tape trolleys or feeder trolleys, matrix tray sequencer, internal matrix tray. Unlike "traditional" chip-shooter style machines, XPii has on no restrictions or limitations on component range. The PCB in production remains stationary.

Winner of the Global Technology and NPI Awards, the
iineo platform features many enhancements to the Europlacer machine range such as a higher feeder count, increased board size and increased maximum component height. The platform uses the company's proven core features, including turret head, intelligent feeders, powerful software -- while introducing technologies such as linear motors and digital cameras.

Iineo
is widely configurable, allowing for numerous different possibilities: 1) Single or dual linear motor gantry including a rotary turret head with 8 or 12 pickups.  2) 1 or 2 board positioning mechanisms. 3) Oversized board options. 4) Huge feeder capacity to front and rear or front only.

The single-head
iineo can handle maximum PCB sizes of 700 x 460 mm with options to handle up to 1610 x 600 mm. The double-head system can handle maximum PCB sizes of 500 x 460 mm with options to handle up to 700 x 600 mm. Both the single and dual-head iineo systems can handle minimum PCB sizes of 60 x 60 mm, board thickness of 0.5 to 10 mm, maximum weight of 3 kg and under board clearance of 25 mm. Additionally, both feature board edge clearance of 3 mm above/5 mm below, and left to right, fixed front rail transport criteria with a height of 950 mm (adjustable from 890 to 975 mm). Board location on both is full edge clamping with fiducial correction, and both systems feature a SMEMA interface. /Continued on the next page.
